The Village Finance Department is responsible for managing financial operations and ensuring responsible stewardship of public funds. Under oversight of the Finance Director, the department provides oversight and proper expenditure of Village finances while assuring support for Village operations, and maintaining accurate records and reporting structures as required by the Auditor of State. The Finance Department is committed to promotion of transparency and accountability.

The Finance Department oversees a variety of functions, including:

  • Accounts Payable: Processing invoices, payments, and financial transactions for Village departments and vendors.
  • Accounts Receivable: Managing incoming payments and maintaining accurate records of funds received by the Village.
  • Payroll: Processing employee payroll, maintaining payroll records, and supporting employee compensation and benefits administration.
  • Utility Billing: Managing utility billing (water/wastewater, stormwater and electric) customer accounts, payments, and related utility services.
  • Budget Planning and Preparation: Coordinating development of the Village’s annual budget, monitoring financial performance, and supporting long-term financial planning.

Headed by the Finance Director, the department is composed of the Accounting/Payroll Officer and Utility Clerks, who work together to provide accurate, timely, and responsive financial services for the Village.

The Finance Department also supports Village Council, administration, and department directors by providing financial analysis, reporting, and guidance to help inform decision-making and ensure the Village’s resources are managed effectively.
