The Village of Yellow Springs Planning & Zoning Department guides the community’s growth and development through planning, zoning, permitting, and economic development services. Staff work with residents, property owners, businesses, developers, and contractors to answer questions, review proposals, and help ensure projects meet Village regulations and community goals.
Planning & Zoning Services
The Planning & Zoning Department is responsible for:
• Administering the Village’s Zoning Code and development regulations
• Reviewing zoning applications, development plans, and site proposals
• Issuing zoning and building permits and conducting required inspections
• Providing guidance to residents, businesses, and contractors on property improvements and development projects
• Supporting long-range planning efforts that shape the future of the community
• Administering economic development programs and incentives
• Supporting the Yellow Springs Development Corporation (YSDC), the Village’s Community Improvement Corporation, in advancing economic vitality and sustainable development
Through these efforts, the department helps maintain a safe, attractive, and well-planned community while supporting responsible growth and investment.
