ATTENTION VILLAGERS:

Our YS Parks & Recreation teams have been working hard this week to prep the pool for opening this weekend. This included taking the necessary steps to pass inspection with Greene County, which we did. Everything was going according to plan.

However, our staff noticed that the pool’s circulation pump was not functioning in a consistent manner. As this is an essential piece of equipment for the pool’s overall health, staff members reached out to their service technicians. The unit was professionally inspected, and it was determined that the pump was failing.

Rather than wait for the circulation pump to completely fail in the middle of the summer pool season, staff decided to take advantage of the cooler weather this weekend and submit the pump for repair at this time.

Therefore, the Gaunt Park Pool is now tentatively scheduled to open on Tuesday, June 3. We apologize for the delay, but we hope this repair ensures a fun and successful summer at the pool. Note that pool passes will still be available for purchase in the interim while the repairs are being completed.
